Hello Friends,
If you’ve been to a show recently, you’ve likely heard me mention that I’ve been the Director of the Opera House for almost 19 years, I love to hear which bands you would like to see, the bat's name is Fred, and that date night in the Ghostlight Lounge is a hoot. In turn, many of you have shared with me or the staff how much you enjoy an evening at the Opera House. For me, those exchanges have validated all that the Opera House has aspired to become through the years.
As you have experienced first-hand we, at Stoughton Opera House, revel in displaying personality and character and all the things that make us uniquely us. Simply stated, we do our best to extend to our patrons and performers all the kindness that we would hope to receive ourselves. I think you'll agree that from the box office, to the quality of our sound and lighting system, our flexible cancellation policy, and even the snacks for our performers - you won't find a warmer welcome or hospitality anywhere!
Once again, The Stoughton Opera House Friends Association (SOHFA) has embarked on a year-end fundraising campaign. SOHFA is a non-profit 501c3 that is dedicated to the continued success of the Opera House through philanthropy, awareness building, and volunteer support.
SOHFA was formed in 2014 in tandem with the first annual Catfish River Music Festival. Since then the group has been responsible for hundreds of thousands of dollars in improvements to our space: a new sound system, new lighting, our grand piano, the Ghostlight Lounge and more. And of course, they helped with the most recognized improvement: those new seat cushions! The list of accomplishments is long, but the list of things still to be done at our historic venue grows.
If you are receiving this email, we know that you’ve taken it upon yourselves to support the Opera House. You’ve become members, made donations, purchased tickets to shows—or maybe you’ve done all those things. I hope you feel proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish with your support.
If, like me, you believe that what we have built together at the Stoughton Opera House is worth maintaining and growing, please click on the link below to the SOHFA website, read about our plans, and consider a year-end gift.
Thank you and see you at the shows!
